Midwestern University Clinics Add New Specialty Faculty in Ophthalmology, Family Medicine

Midwestern University is pleased to announce the addition of new clinical faculty at the University's and , located at 59th Avenue and Utopia Road in Glendale, just south of the 101 Loop.

Dr. Wendy Huang

Wendy Huang, M.D., has been appointed as an Ophthalmologist and Clinical Associate Professor at the . Dr. Huang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Chicago in 2003 and received her M.D. from Rush Medical College in 2008. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt. Sinai in 2012 and earned fellowships in pediatric ophthalmology from the USC-Doheny Eye Institute at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CA) and in cornea uveitis ophthalmology from the UC Irvine Gavin Herbert Eye Institute. Dr. Huang worked as a physician and clinical instructor at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Hospital in 2013 before moving to New York to take a position as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai and New York Medical College until 2015. She then became an attending physician at Eye Center South in Dothan, AL, before coming to Arizona in 2018 to become an attending physician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital while also serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona. Dr. Huang joined Midwestern University in 2023 as an Adjunct Professor.

Kimberly Klatt, D.O., Katie Neuer, D.O., Kylie Prehn, D.O., and Jennifer Shuey, D.O., practice as Clinical Assistant Professors in Family Medicine at the .

Dr. Kimberly Klatt

Dr. Klatt earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) in Health Sciences, and then achieved her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Midwestern University in 2019 after participating in Midwestern's Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences program in 2015. Dr. Klatt worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant prior to becoming an osteopathic physician and then served as Chief Resident at Mountain Vista Medical Center until 2022. She returned to Midwestern University in 2024 after working as a Family Medicine physician at Optum Primary Care. Dr. Klatt is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and is board-certified with the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She is currently a Vice President of the Arizona chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP).

Dr. Katie Neuer

Dr. Neuer earned her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, summa cum laude, from Arizona State University in 2009. She was an Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Fellow and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016. Dr. Neuer completed residencies in Family Medicine (Mountain Vista Medical Center, Mesa, AZ, 2019) and Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM – Midwestern University Multispecialty Clinic, 2020), before working at Agave Pediatrics as a Pediatric OMM Physician. She began working in Family Medicine/Pediatrics at the Midwestern University Multispecialty Clinic in December 2023.

Dr. Kylie Prehn

Dr. Prehn graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. She went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) in 2018, then completed a Family Medicine residency with an Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine track at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL in 2021. From 2021 to 2022, Dr. Prehn worked as a Family Medicine physician with the Dignity Health Medical Group in Chandler, AZ, and then in late 2022 she moved to help develop the East Valley Family Medicine Residency for Dignity Health in Gilbert, AZ. She was hired as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Midwestern University Multispecialty Clinic in May 2024.

Dr. Jennifer Shuey

Dr. Shuey graduated from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL, with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and then earned a Master of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Florida and a Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences from Midwestern University's Downers Grove Campus. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Midwestern's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) and then completed her residency at Ascension Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Shuey holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), the American Academy of Neurologists, the American Osteopathic Association, the Osteopathic Cranial Academy.
